  1. Reminds me of a sermon I once heard about money, not so much in relation to tithes/offerings but in how we use it to help others. Our checkbooks tell the story.

  2. Great quote from Martin Luther, thanks. Isn’t it amazing how many things we easily cling to for life. Until a couple of years ago, I could never figure out why the last verse in the book of I John closes with “My little children, keep yourselves from idols”. Didn’t think I had any idols. And the verse seemed so out of context. Then I realized John, in the verses before his statement on idols, was talking about life. Life in Jesus Christ. It you depend on anything else but Jesus for life, you have an idol
