Walking through the village of Kangundo, Kenya, I was stopped by a nicely dressed man about my age. As he felt my biceps he exclaimed, “OH! Look at how strong you are! You have very large muscles.” He then walked me to a local vendor selling watermelon and insisted on purchasing a slice for me because of my strength.
I humbly accepted his offer as people standing around took note of my upper arms.
The Bible speaks of God’s strong arm. The Lord brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand and with an outstretched arm, with great terror and with signs and wonders (Deuteronomy 26:8).
His right arm delivered a group of slaves numbering in the millions out from under the control of the mightiest nation on the face of the earth at that time. His strong arm humiliated the armies and the pharaoh of Egypt.
If the strength of a near 50-year old man could gain the attention of Kenyans, how much more should the strong arm of Jesus wow the people of the world!
