When it was bedtime, my mother would sing to me. She’d sing about Waltzing Matilda, the fly that married the bumble bee, how Jesus loved me because the Bible told me so, and a song about a bear that went over a mountain.
The bear went over the mountain, the bear went over the mountain, the bear went over the mountain to see what he could see.
And all that see could see, and all that he could see was the other side of the mountain … was all that he could see.
Tomorrow is a mountain we can’t see over until we reach it’s top. Each day we find ourselves beginning at the bottom of yet another mountain. The Christian has the blessed assurance and peace of knowing that whatever may come as we climb to the top of the mountain, and then down to the bottom, is secured in the hands of a loving and all-knowing Saviour named Jesus.
And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28).
