When We Didn’t Walk with God

trash_heapAre there things in your past that you’re not proud of and would rather leave on the rubbish heap of history? If you’re a human, the answer is an absolute “YES”!!!

The Bible tells of a man named Enoch who at the young age of 65 had his first son and named him Methuselah. The birth of Methuselah did something to Enoch. Parenting has a way of doing that to people. After he begot Methuselah, Enoch walked with God three hundred years (Genesis 5:22).

Enoch began his walk with God after his son was born. Sixty-five years doing his own thing, but the last three hundred years of his life were spent walking with God.

God doesn’t want us to dwell on the days in our past when we didn’t walk with Him. He wants us to move forward in joy and peace with Him – living in the present – and walking forward with Him in faith, and hope, and love.

We should no longer live the rest of our time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God. We have spent enough of our past lifetime in doing the will of the Gentiles (1 Peter 4:2, 3).
