The Sears Catalog

My sister and I sat on the floor turning through the pages of the Sears catalog for hours. Day after day we’d look at each toy, carefully read the descriptions, and ponder the prices. With pen in hand, we’d circle the things we wanted and carefully turned back the corner of that page for easier finding.

I’m thinking back to those ol’ days of making wishes and marking dreams. As I reminisce, I can’t remember a single one of those Christmas presents that 4-year old had to have.

There is one Gift, however, that no matter what day of the week or time of the year it may be, I will not – and can not forget. That single Gift is in my thoughts each day and abides within me. The Gift of the Father giving His own Son, is not only the Gift I’ll never forget, He is the Gift who has forever changed my life and eternal destiny.

Jesus said –  If you had known the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water (John 4:10).
