Greater than Adam and Eve

Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings.

And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden (Genesis 3:7-8)

The innocent, sinless, and good husband and wife sinned. Immediately Adam and Eve attempted covering their sins with fig leaves.

When God approached, they tried covering their broken fellowship with Him by hiding behind trees.

They didn’t turn to God by their free will, but relied upon themselves.

They didn’t run looking for God, but hid themselves from Him. God came looking for them and did for them by grace what sin made them incapable of doing for themselves.

Many people think the power of their free-will is greater than Adam and Eve’s. It isn’t! Therefore salvation is all of God and His grace. And Jesus said to them, “Today salvation has come to this house … for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost” (Luke 19:9-10).
