A new law in Germany takes effect on November 1, 2013, and allows parents to choose an option other than “male” or “female” for their newborn baby. The new third option allows the individual to decide gender later in life.
If a man loses his arm in an accident, does he become a woman? If a woman’s breasts are removed due to cancer, does she become a man? Outward appearance does not determine gender, that is designated by DNA. There are only two varieties of DNA: masculine and feminine.
What makes a boy male and a girl female? No matter what happens to the physical parts, or the outward appearance of the human body, there is no genetic “it” nor is there true gender confusion.
